Heading off to Inari in Northern Finland to spend some time looking for those elusive Northern Lights, do some husky travelling, snowshoe trekking, snowmobiling and of course learn about the Sami culture, and their beautiful reindeer. Not leaving for a couple of days but am busy packing every bit of winter kit I have as today it was -14 at our destination......

Arrived tonight in Helsinki, -5 out there and VERY snowy. No problem at Heathrow, we are very lucky considering all the delays some people have had. Staying one night at the Hilton at the airport and leaving first thing in the morning for an hours flight to Invalo, at the top of Northern Finland. Once there, we are driving to a small village about an hour away called Inari, where we will spend the next 7 days. Sitting in the bar writing this with my first (and definitely not my last I suspect) Finnish vodka in my hand....... So our latest journey begins, more to follow....with hopefully some stunning photos...being on those Northern Lights!
