Blog 2 - Moving on to Savannah

Oh, I love America, everywhere we go they have wifi so sadly you get more blogs......
Today is again 30c and we are driving down the interstate towards Savannah, listening to good old songs on the radio -America singing Ventura Highway, Eagles singing Hotel California - you get the picture? Seemingly endless long straight roads, no traffic, just like those road movies we've all seen.
Passed through small towns, some crammed with more churches than houses. One in particular sticks in my mind - a town called Portal, famous for its Turpentine Festival???? Sadly we missed that one. This was followed by numerous small towns with such names as Scott, Adrian, Dublin ...... Cotton growing on both sides of the road. Every town seems to have plenty of
pawn and gun shops.
Biggest laugh today was Doug being asked for ID when buying (what passes here for) beer, he was very chuffed about that!
Finally arrived in Savannah in time for the Latino Festival which means everyone is on the street and dancing, so of course after a bottle of wine had to join in. Spending the next 2 days here before heading on down the coast to Cumberland Island.

Don't see a lot of,signs like this in Blighty..

The first of many shrimp suppers...
