Found a squashy, furry moose to buy for the new Baby Howes now named Andrew Douglas so guesswho is over the moon???
Still travelling north into an area called Dalarna. Spent 3 nights in an empty campsite by Lake Siljan ( 6th largest lake in Sweden, formed by a massive meteorite hitting the area a little while ago......) finally had my first lake swim - took my breath away it was sooooo cold! Spent the days exploring the area which has lots of wildlife and birds. The bikes had their first outing.
Swedes seem to be crazy for mini golf, every campsite has one and the latest one we have looked at is called midget golf - not sure if you have to be vertically challenged or their English is not quite right! Having said that, everywhere we have been the locals speak perfect English, as usual putting us to shame.
Heading for the Bothnian coast (east) via a place called Falun as Doug wants to visit a copper mine where Falu red paint is made and to look down the big pit, which apparently appeared in 1647 on Midsummers Day - basically I think the mine collapsed. What is it with men and looking down big holes, reminded me of workmen at home!!!
Lake Siljan
and me in it....brrrrr
