Heading For Amsterdam, Paris & Buenos Aires

This first blog post is really to set up and test everything so hopefully there will be a picture or two below.

Well, we are off! Finally managed to get those gorgeous pale blue wellies (to match the parka of course, and yes, I know I look like an iceberg!!!) into the bag and after removing mountains of thermals etc, it now weighs in at 18k. Not much room for pressies then..

Friday night we went to the pub with various mates for a pre-Christmas get together and to say goodbye. Doug had his final sausage and mash – have no idea how he will fare from now on but I am sure he will manage to find alternatives! Penguin is nice at this time of year, I hear..

We are flying with KLM to all of the above (yippee all those air miles) and the temperature today is +28 in Buenos Aires. We have 4 days at the Rochester Hotel (which doesn’t sound very Argentinean to me) and my next Blog hopefully will come from there.

* Me and Rachel T - now that's what I call fish 'n' chips!

Don't really know what to write on a blog - but wanted to be the first anyway! Wet & miserable in Silverton today (Monday) - just had to put another log on the fire. Jenny returns to Cape Town tomorrow (passes Bob in the air - probably over Morocco) and says to tell you the swimming pool & BBQ are now finished - they've found a nearby game reserve we can visit and are planning a trip round the wine routes (hic!) - temperature there should match what you're now feeling in B A - can't wait to see the photos of the pale blue wellies .... love Sheila

Whoah, this is so exciting, and wonderful to be able to follow your news like this. I can almost feel the cold.
Stay safe, have fun, and if you see an albatross get a picture for me!
Love, Sally
