Met up with Sheila and Bob, headed for Heathrow and it was a pretty nippy 6c as we left.
48 hours later and we are sitting having breakfast looking at the Fuego volcano, which erupted yesterday, which was very exciting for both us and the locals. Apparently it erupted big time last September and 33,000 people had to be evacuated. Couple of not very good photos, but it was impressive at last night.
Wandered around Antigua town yesterday, lots of ruins as there was a massive earthquake in 1773 which seems to have wiped most of the town out..... Not as hot as we thought it would be but as luck would have it, yesterday was the coldest day they have had here in months - typical.
However, as I write this on Day 3 it is warming up to 22c NICE.
We are moving to Panajachel and Lake Atilan today and I'm told that the
lake is overlooked by forest-shrouded volcanoes, and tiny fields of vegetables and cereals dot its fertile shores! Bring it on I say....
Bob and Sheila amongst some old ruins....
Local people......

Until next time...
