The Travelling Howes: Blog 4 - Swamp land here we come...

Finally left the beach and headed down the highway to a place called Kingsland which is near the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge which is an awesomely vast expanse of wilderness southern swamp covering approximately 700 square miles and where Doug hopes to find some more birds, alligators, pitcher plants etc. Sounds like mozzie heaven to me! will report more on that later. To date he has seen 51 different species now and is just getting plain greedy to see more.
The weather has been a bit weird in that is is humid all day every day and the sun shines, but then the heavens open for a while and everywhere is drenched and then the sun shines again!
Really enjoying the driving, although the car is still scary and does do most of the work for me (it's an automatic). Loving the road signs we see along the way, have to keep stopping to photograph them because some are just unbelievable.
If there are no more blogs, it's because the Swamp got me. Only a few days now before my sister arrives in Atlanta, am looking forward to seeing her and Keith after 6 years (I think, I am sure she will correct me if I'm wrong).
