Blog 6 - Climbing every mountain, and other stuff....

Never found either of those much-looked for birds but climbed some pretty steep hills in their pursuit and the views from the top were stupendous. Made it as far at Stromsund, just into Lappland,  (1,559 miles) from Bickington and   sadly have decided it is time to turn south again. The roads we have travelled are long, straight, empty and have pine, beech and spruce forests for as far as the eye can see- singing along loudly to Abba!!Almost wilderness - the towns we do pass through are basically a petrol station, a shop and a few houses. Still seen no Brits at all. Didn't realise what a huge country this is, we would need to drive another 350 miles approximately to reach the Arctic - saving that for the next trip here!
Heard today that baby Leo Mason checked in at a whopping 9lb 5oz, second baby to be born on this trip - congratulations Alex and Angelina.

Struggle to the top
