Blog 2-Wallander Country.............and beyond!

25th – 29 May
We have travelled further North to the lakes in south east Sweden. Been doing lots of 20+ mile bike rides so am feeling a little sore but I'm sure its good for us??? It is very low season here so a lot of stuff is closed but up until today the weather has been good-raining as I write this. Left most of the tourists behind (great) and this area is stunningly beautiful, water everywhere. Evenings spent playing scrabble (and fighting over the spelling), watching movies and reading. Learnt that 10% of the Swedish population was conceived in an Ikea bed - now there's something I didn't know.......
Visited various castles, churches, rune stones (and not many shops, prices too scary even for me....) but did spend some time and money in Kosta, a glassblowing area. The villages we pass through are filled with candy-coloured houses and flower-filled courtyards for the most part. Impressions of Sweden so far – beautiful, extremely well planned for tourists, lovely villages, cold but sunny weather, interesting birds for himself, photos a tad dull I know but having a good time so far.
Travelling now to Stockholm for a weekend then across the centre and down the western coast to either get a ferry from Goteborg back to Denmark or travel down the coast back to Malmo and that mega-expensive bridge! Done just over 1000 miles since we left home nearly 2 weeks ago.
Nameless but beautiful lake
