Arrived at Keflavik airport (Ice,and) and are now ensconced in a small guesthouse overlooking Hallgrimskirkja church, a huge modern structure right in the centre of town. Spent the afternoon wandering around and will do so again tomorrow before picking up the 4x4 and setting off for our trip around the entire island.
There are a lot of galleries, museums and Icelandic cultural places to visit so we have to pack a lot in in the next day.
Am wondering if we should pay a visit to the Icelandic Phallological Museum - Penis Museum - which assures me it is the only one of its kind in the world!!!!! Well I never!!! Probably should just to add it to my collection of "weird museums we have visited around the world ....... "
Aforementioned church
Not such a bright day!Can't believe what Doug just ate for supper- a platter of sheepshead jelly, fermented shark, rams testicles, whale jelly, dried fish and rye bread, smoked lamb, two types of herring and all for the princely sum of £15 + £4.50 for a glass of beer. YUK.....apart from the beer that is! That's it below.......
