Blog 5 - West coast and down to Gothenberg....

Writing this from a small island called Orust on the west coast of Sweden. There are thousands of islands here, this one is just beautiful and not too busy. A sailors paradise, everyone seems to own a boat of some description. Came via another island called Smogen - some nice photos to take here we thought.
I have to say that we have found that Sweden is definitely only open between the 21 June and the 21 August, almost everywhere we go all the restaurants and shops are closed. Admittedly we are in “tourist” country (as opposed to big city) but there is just the very minimum open and this is still classed as low season. The weather has been glorious, the bikes have been getting a good work out but the cakes here are delicious - hey ho – off for another BBQ....
Booked a ferry online to Fredrickshavn in Denmark at 4pm tomorrow (6th June) from Gothenberg – hope we can find it..... It is also National Swedish Day or something!
On the last Stieg Larsson book now -The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest, Doug wading through The Girl Who Played with Fire – I am most definitely all Stieg'd out but it is more interesting now that we have been to some of the places mentioned in the trilogy....
Next blog from Denmark
