Blog 3 - Match of the Day has nothing on this!

Just waiting to take flight back to Santiago then tomorrow we fly up to the Attacama desert for 4 days.

Spent supper last night on a balcony overlooking the new floodlit football pitch next to the ocean which was hilarious.  As there is only one town all the teams comes from Honga Roa so it gets kind of gangish (if there is such a word) and the ball is constantly being retrieved from either the sea or from under a passing car  (driver gets out & throws it back which is pretty reasonable I think..). Then a pack of local dogs invade the pitch and do what dogs do, the ref is the same as refs all over the world and the locals are all shouting what is probably obscenities at him.  Good fun. Makes match of the Day look very tedious!

We walked 13k (not John, he is resting up the broken ankle) yesterday so am burnt (put factor 50 on honestly) and tired but having a great time.
