2,500 miles and now arrived for a 3 day visit to Copenhagen on island of Zealand. Great city, small enough to walk around, with canals, churches and culture (something we have lacked a little on this trip). Campsite about a half hour bus ride from the centre and am writing this having spent the 3 days walking it.That's not very good English is it? I mean walking the city of course.... Weather was good for 2 of the days. As I write this the locals are celebrating Midsummer by having a massive witch-burning bonfire, BBQ with copious quantities of alcohol and twisty bread (a local speciality I'm told)
Moving on to Funen, the middle island, for the last few days of our trip, the highlight of this being a visit to the (in)famous Potato Museum I hope, if Doug lets me.... He finally saw his crested tit and I got to do some shopping! He never got to see the black woodpecker but saw 90 species of birds (info that only birders will find interesting perhaps??) Maybe next time.
last blog as we are now about to get on the ferry at Esjberg and head for home. Had a brilliant trip - Sweden is wild, beautiful and interesting, Denmark is tame, beautiful and interesting.....
Exactly what you would expect me to put up??
