Last day in San Jose, steamy Sunday

Slept for 14 hours flat out then went into town this morning to have a look around whilst fully functioning, as I wasn't yesterday!

The hardest thing here is crossing the streets - manic drivers. Main plaza is excellent for people watching - sitting sipping delicious CR coffee (yes everyone will be getting coffee as pressies when we come home) opposite the National Theatre. Open market with all the usual strange, bizarre and downright weird stuff, alongside the usual tat. This place is truly shoe heaven - every other shop sells shoes of every description and it is pretty obvious that they cater for American and Canadian tourists. McDonalds, Wendys, Pizza Hut all abound sadly. Lot of herbal medicines for Doug to study, although our Spanish is not as good as it should be. D spotted his first bird (feathered kind) for the birders, it was a Grackle of some kind.

Gotta fly, things to do, until next time.

Adios amigoes......... Annie & Doug
