Blog 6 - Iguazu Falls - Argentinan and Brazilian

Left the desert and mountains, now in the land of water....Flew into Iguazu, a small place which solely seems to cater for tourists. Our hotel sits on the edge of the Rio Iguassu with views over Brazil and Paraguay - very nice. Starting to feel a bit weary, lots of very early starts are finally starting to catch up with me.
Well, what can I say about the Falls; they are absolutely astounding, I have never seen so much water, the power of it and the noise is what immediately strike you. We walked through a succession of walkways to various lookout points, happily snapping all the way on the Argentian side. Next day we did the same on the Brazilian side, crossing the border and getting yet more stamps in the passport....As it's low season there are not too many other tourists which is great for us, and there is plenty of water to watch plunging over the precipices. Took hundreds of photos but none do it justice really, it is too vast to capture. In places you get soaked by the spray, but it is warm, wet and humid here.
Argentian side of the Falls

not many birds to be seen here but a hell of a lot of quoarti (small, cute-looking but fairly vicious native animal always scrounging for food it seems....)

Brazilian side of the Falls

here we saw the panoramic view of the whole sweep of the cataracts - an entirely different experience from the Argentine side.
